Roachdale, Dec 9 - Mrs. R. C. McCampbell, died at her home here today at noon at the age of 78. She was the widow of R. C. McCampbell, who for many years was associated with the Barnhill, Hornaday & Pickett Grocery in Crawfordsville. Born in Marshall, Dec 6, 1858, Mrs. McCampbell was the daughter of James and Rachel Saunders Cummings. She was married to Mr. McCampbell Oct 6, 1887. Mrs. McCampbell lived in Crawfordsville from 1889 to 1918. Since then she had made her home in Indianapolis and Roachdale. The husband passed away in 1918. Mrs. McCampbell was an active member of the Roachdale Presbyterian Church and of the local chapter of Eastern Star. Surviving are two daguthers, Mrs. Edward H. Zeigner, of Indianapolis and Mrs. Ralph Edwards of Roachdale, one son Paul R(obert) McCampbell of Great Neck, Long Island and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Roachdale Presbyterian Church at 2 o'clock Friday afternoon with Rev VD Ragan of Indianapolis in charge. The casket will be opened at the church one hour preceding the services. Friends may call at the Chastain Funeral Home Thursday night between 6 and 9 o'clock. Burial will be made at Oak Hill Cemetery, Crawfordsville. -- typed by kbz

Funeral services for Anna McCampbell who died at the Higgins Hotel Wednesday noon will be held Friday afternoon at the Presbyterian church.

Anna Virginia Cummings was born December 6, 1858 near Bloomingdale, Indiana. On October 5, 1881, she was married to Richard C. McCampbell of near Rockville, Indiana. In 1889 they moved to Crawfordsville where they resided until Mr. McCampbells death in 1918. She moved to Indianapolis for six years and in 1924, she came to Roachdale where she has since resided. Survivors are two daughters; Mrs. E. H. Ziegner of Indianapolis, Mrs.Ralph Edwards of Roachdale, one son Paul R. McCampbell of Great Neck Long Island and five grandchildren --- thanks so much to Marilyn Walker who so graciously donated her Roachdale Times obituary collection - greatly appreciated!!
